Little Litter Warriors in action
As part of our work to make the village an even more beautiful place, we were visited by Karen Blanchfield of Little Litter Warriors again on Thursday 30th June. Karen worked with our Ducklings class to teach them about the importance of not leaving litter behind, and how it can affect our environment. She was extremely impressed with how much they had remembered from her previous visit and assembly. The children then worked with Karen to collect any litter that was on our school grounds. After playtime, the Eco-Team went out to the playing fields in Bretforton to collect litter and picked up a rather worrying six buckets of litter from the field in just 25 minutes. Among the items found were crisp packets, a broken traffic cone, Vape containers, broken plastic cups, and a drinks can which was at least 37 years old as it had the old style of ring-pull on the top. The children found the range of litter fascinating and wished they had more time to collect litter as there was still some that they couldn’t gather up.
